A Promise

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

I can go anywhere that He wants me to go
I can be anything He wants me to be
I can climb the high mountains
I can cross the wide sea
I'm a great big promise you see!

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I'm a promise to be anything God wants me to be
Anything God wants me to be!

A promise, a possibility, a great big bundle of potentiality.... I never imagined that it would be this hard to be a mother. It never entered my mind that my son would go to war, with himself. How frustrating not to have the answers! How disappointing that I lack the faith.

Oh Father, let my boy be more than a possibility.

Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. Praying for you and yours tonight. And wishing for you the joy that always comes in the morning.

PS - Didn't we sing this with our Eager Beavers?

  2. Oh wow, you transported me back! I sang this as a child in Sunday School and it was one of my very favorite songs!

I also have a son who seems to be at war with himself and we had a difficult day. I'll be praying for you as well as I lift up my own family tonight.

  3. I'm praying for you and yours. I know your heartache, God will see you thru, he will fill in the gaps. He has definitely filled in when I was and am so lacking of the answers. I sometimes want him to work faster, but He is always right on time. I love you and your family, He blessed me with you guys, one of the fill ins is you. I hope I can be just half of what you are. I will keep praying for you and yours.
