I can't deny it, I've been out of tune. Days have passed, time's marched on. My kids have grown. I've been here, but I've been absent. They need me. They need me to smile. They need me to laugh. They need my heart to sing. So, I packed them up and drove out of town. The effort to get them all ready almost made me quit. But I wanted to go. You see, there is a patch, right smack in the middle of absolutely nowhere, with the sweetest strawberries ever! My efforts were rewarded.

She came, she saw, she devoured. |

I know it's a shock, but this girl stayed pretty clean! |
|
Only one boy stayed in the patch to help Mama fill up the buckets. |

Aren't they beautiful? |
Sticky sweet children, juicy red goodness, my heart was full. Full of praise and gratitude for the One who didn't withhold the beauty of this day, despite my sinfulness. My God is good, all the time. He created me for these moments. His gifts surround me, His salvation covers me. What else can I do? My heart sings!

Sweetness should be shared.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1: 17
These look awfully good. I'm impressed you had enough for three pies! So far our strawberry picking has only been on the produce aisle. This looked like fun though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Wish we could have joined you. Our local strawberry patch is finished. Praise God for the berries and the babies.
ReplyDeleteI've been there feeling that way and I have packed up and gone to visit Mom and Dad to find that refreshment. Glad you got it!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry heaven!! I've never made a strawberry pie...maybe this summer. I loved "she came, she saw, she devoured!"
